BLESSING OF THE PETS
If you have or had a companion animal in your life, you know what a blessing it can be to share part of your life journey with members of another species, and how it can enrich one’s life. In celebration of this special bond, Church and community members and friends are invited to bring their pets for an outdoor Blessing of the Pets on MAY 14, 2016 at 3 p.m. All pets should be leashed or contained to ensure their safety. In the case of pets who are unable to attend the blessing, a human family member may bring a photograph of them to the event.
If you wish to remember a special pet who is no longer with you, a memorial table will be set up on which you may place a photograph or memento to acknowledge the important contribution of that companion animal in your life.
Anyone who celebrates the human – companion animal bond, even if he or she is not a pet owner themselves, is invited to join in this special event to affirm the richness of God’s creation.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket! In the event of inclement weather, this outdoor event will be rescheduled for a later date, to be determined.
