Beach, Labyrinth, Campfire

Our 2023 Confirmation class attended the Lake Michigan Camp Confirmation Retreat, April 28-30. With sessions on Methodist history, Christian theology and more, they had time to learn and discern God’s call in their lives.

Moments on the shoreline of Lake Michigan gave confirmands a sense of God’s bigness and beauty. The prayer labyrinth introduced these young people to new but ancient faith practices. And the smell of campfires, hikes in the woods, and even some frisbee golf gave the whole gathering a sense of adventure and fun.

We look forward to our upcoming Confirmation Buddies gatherings where these young people can bring their retreat experience to bear on their continued exploration of what it means to choose to live as an active follower of Jesus and member of our particular Jesus community.
