GATHERING
Welcome Statement
Pastor Suzy Todd
Welcome to Dearborn First United Methodist Church. We believe that all people are made in God's image and are loved by God. We believe that the church should act as Christ acted, opposing all oppression, persecution and ostracism. Therefore, we welcome, empower and celebrate people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds; all sexual orientations and gender identities; all socio-economic and immigration statuses; all abilities and ages. We embrace the full diversity of God’s glorious creation because we believe that is the only way to live into the kin-dom to come.

Call to Worship
Pastor Suzy Todd
In the beginning God created all things,
and God saw that they were good.
At our beginning, God created us
unique and irreplaceable, loved and wanted by God,
known and treasured by God.
In all our new beginnings, God creates something new
so we will seek God in the freshness of this morning,
in the laughter of friends, in the colors of creation,
and in this beautiful place.
Amen.

Incarnate God
For the times we’ve hurt you
Forgive us
For the times we’ve hurt others
Forgive us
For the times we’ve hurt ourselves
Forgive us
For we are made in your image
and it is very good.
How much does God love us?
Enough to send the divine heart, hope, and spirit to us,
not to condemn us, but to save us.
Not by our speaking or doing,
but by God's good and precious grace are we saved.
Thanks be to God! Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
