GATHERING
Welcome Statement in Unison
Pastor Suzy Todd
As followers of Jesus, we are committed to welcoming and loving everyone as Jesus did, without regard to ability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, family make-up or religion. We embrace the principles of love over hate, inclusion over bias, respect over prejudice, equality over bigotry, and caring for all. Therefore, we reject all messages of hate and exclusivism as antithetical to the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are committed to living out non- discriminating love in our lives, worship, study and service. We are Dearborn First United Methodist Church.

Call to Worship
Pastor Suzy Todd
Righteous God, you rule the nations
Guard brave men and women in service to our community and nation
Give them compassion for those who confront them as enemies
Keep us from hate that hardens,
Keep us from scorekeeping with human lives.
Make us as eager for agreement as for victory
Never let hard duty change us from your way, your truth and your life.
Amen

CONFESSION & PARDON
Pastor Suzy Todd
Look graciously, O Lord, upon this land,
Where it is in pride, subdue it.
Where it is in need, supply it
Where it is in error, rectify it.
Where it is in default, restore it.
And where it holds to that which is just and compassionate, support it.
God is a God of all nations, and all ages. God gives us light and truth to guide us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Alleluia
Passing Peace
Pastor Suzy Todd
Reconciled with God, we now turn toward reconciliation with one another.
Turn and offer one another the peace and joy of Christ.
Prayers of the People
Pastor Suzy Todd and Mary Gladstone-Highland
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
