GATHERING

Welcome Statement    (in Unison)
Pastor Suzy Todd

As followers of Jesus, we are committed to welcoming and loving everyone as Jesus did, without regard to ability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, family make-up or religion. We embrace the principles of love over hate, inclusion over bias, respect over prejudice, equality over bigotry, and caring for all. Therefore, we reject all messages of hate and exclusivism as antithetical to the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are committed to living out non- discriminating love in our lives, worship, study and service. We are Dearborn First United Methodist Church.

Call to Worship
Pastor Suzy Todd

This day is filled with possibility to encounter the Living Christ.

With bright eyes, let us search.

This new day is filled with possibility to understand the Living Christ.

With engaged minds, let us ponder.

This new day is filled with possibility to respond to the Living Christ.

With solid devotion, let us follow.

This new day is filled with possibility to serve the Living Christ.

With humble intention, let us act.

This new day is filled with possibility to praise the Living Christ.

With strong voices, let us sing.

CONFESSION & PARDON

Pastor Suzy Todd

Spirit of God, you are the knd of change that blows through our lives.
Forgive our closed minds that barricade themselves from new ideas
Give us courage to grow past our own understandings
Open us to the many ways you teach and guide us.

God is merciful and gracious. Our sins are forgiven. Peace be with you.

Peace be with you.

Passing Peace
Pastor Suzy Todd

Reconciled with God, we now turn toward reconciliation with one another.
Turn and offer one another the peace and joy of Christ.

Prayers of the People

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
