2024 Homecoming Parking

Hello, 2024 Homecoming Parking Volunteers!

Thank you for your assistance in raising resources to help our young people grow in their faith through camping and mission trips.

Below you will find some helpful information about our parking lot fundraiser and how you can help it be a great success! If you have any questions, please feel free to text or call Carl Gladstone at 586-295-3055.

Suggested Donation to Park: $10

  • We gladly take contributions higher that $10.

  • We also allow folks to park at any level of contribution if you, as a volunteer, decide that it would be hospitable to do so.

  • There will be cash on hand to make change. There will be QR codes available that will take customers to our Vanco page for the fundraiser.

  • Cash collected will be gathered and counted by two unrelated persons at the end of each shift. $100 in change should be left in each of two money bags. The remainder should be counted and then dropped in Sue’s locked office.

Tasks for Volunteers

Each shift, volunteers should organize themselves into a few main roles.

  1. Garrison Entrance Attendants - Stationed at the Garrison entrance nearest to the church building, these volunteers wave in customers, stop them as they enter, take their cash or online contributions, and direct them to a parking spot or to a Parking Assistant if there is one available to show them where to park.

  2. Morley Entrance Attendants - Stationed at the Morley entrance, these volunteers wave in customers, stop them as they enter, take their cash or online contributions, and direct them to a parking spot or to a Parking Assistant if there is one available to show them where to park.

  3. Parking Assistants - These volunteers roam the lot keeping a count of open spaces and directing cars to open spots. Parking assistants are also crucial in helping park cars on the grass lot. Please be sure that no car is parked without an “easy out.”

  4. Hospitality - When there are enough volunteers on a shift, additional volunteers can help with:

    1. Meeting and greeting parkers, making sure they’ve received our “what’s next” flier about upcoming church activities and generally being friendly.

    2. A simple lemonade stand next to the Morley entrance. Any additional donation is accepted as lemonade is distributed.

    3. Picking songs to play on our Bluetooth speaker which will be set up in the window of the Wesleyan Hall. These should be fun, family friendly songs that create a welcoming environment for parkers and volunteers.

The Overall Goal

Yes, this is a fundraiser. But most importantly this is a chance to let a lot of neighbors know that we are a friendly, welcoming and fun faith community!
