Sunday Worship with Hanging of the Greens

  • Dearborn First United Methodist Church 22124 Garrison Street Dearborn, MI, 48124 United States (map)

Kick off Advent in worship this Sunday!

Hanging of the Greens with Holy Communion
Sunday, December 3 @ 10 a.m.
In-person • Livestream

Come worship on this first Sunday of Advent as we enter the season of anticipation! In preparation, we will hang greens during the service - kids will decorate the Chrismon Tree during Family Moment, and other symbolic elements will be placed around the sanctuary.

This Sunday is also Communion Sunday. We practice an open table at Dearborn First UMC, meaning all can take part in Communion regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or practice, or religious background or experience.

Non-alcoholic grape juice and gluten-free bread are also used to ensure this special time is accessible to all.

The sermon, “A Carpenter Named Joseph” marks the start of an Advent Sermon Series based on Adam Hamilton’s book, “Faithful: Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph.”

Scripture lesson: Matthew 13: 54-56
