Hospitality Week
Join members of Dearborn First UMC in supporting participants of the Cass Community Social Services Rotating Shelter, taking place every year during Thanksgiving week.
For many years now, Dearborn First UMC has provided shelter, food, and friendship to those in need. Together with our guests, we have shared meals, movie nights, musical entertainment, praise, and worship provided by members of our church and wider community.
Join us this year for a distributed, socially distanced week of supporting Cass’ shelter participants as they stay at one location in Detroit. Dearborn First UMC will support the program through much-needed donations.
Sign up online to volunteer to donate bagged lunches, hygiene kits, bedding, and air mattresses, or to deliver lunches and other donations to Cass.

WHAT IS NEEDED?
• 8 volunteers to make 5 bagged lunches daily
(40 bagged lunches total each day
• Completed Hygiene Kits - any quantity
• Twin sheet sets and pillowcases - any quantity
• Blankets - new or gently used - COLLECTING NOW - SEE BELOW
• Twin Air Mattresses (Click here for sample on Amazon)
• Delivery Drivers to bring sandwiches to Cass by 8:30 a.m.
(Sun - Wed., Saturday)
• Delivery Drivers to bring donated items to Cass
(Ideally Tuesday and Friday, but any time volunteers are available)
BAGGED LUNCH AND HYGIENE KIT CONTENTS
BAGGED LUNCH CONTENTS:
• 2 sandwiches
• Juice box
• Fruit (apple, banana, orange or baggie of grapes)
• Snack bar or cookies etc.
• Little bag of chips
HYGIENE KIT CONTENTS:
• Travel size Shampoo
• Small bar soap
•.Tooth brush and Travel tooth paste
• Feminine hygiene products (for 1/2 the kits)
• Deodorant
• Washcloth
• Small hand lotions
• Lib balm/chapstick
