This Sunday, Dearborn First UMC continues the sermon and study series, Final Words, based on the book by Adam Hamilton. How do the final words of Jesus mean new life for us?
Additionally, each Sunday in Lent, the Easter cross will be dressed by a different Lenten symbol. This Sunday’s symbol is the robe, representing the the purple robe the Roman soldiers put on Jesus to mock him, before they crucified him. (Mark 5:17-20)
This is also UMCOR Sunday - a time when we highlight the global efforts of the United Methodist Committee on Relief, and give to support the operating expenses of UMCOR. Because every dollar donated to UMCOR goes directly to relief causes, UMCOR Sunday is an important time to ensure the expenses of providing aid are covered.
