Folks @ First: Garrison Corner

It all started in a church parking lot. Three folks, who shared a place of work, place of worship, and love of music decided to further that connection by forming a band.
In this episode of Folks@First, the three founding members of Garrison Corner, Jeff Karoub, George Luckey, and Dan Houston, share how they got their start, and how they use their gifts and talents to reach out and connect with a larger community.
ABOUT GARRISON CORNER: Describing themselves as “Americana music with Michigan and Oklahoma accents,” Garrison Corner has performed live, and during the height of pandemic, released new originals to streaming platforms, as well as enjoyed radio play and media coverage, both locally and globally.
While Garrison Corner is not a “church band” performing Christian music, they share their gifts and talents to connect with, and support the community in other ways. Their original songs touch on universal themes that reflect life journeys shared by many - economic hardship, relationships, self-reflection, and the importance of heritage and legacy.
Their live performances are avenues to support charitable causes, such as providing entertainment for guests of a rotating homeless shelter, supporting a local concert series, and raising funds to support mission and ministries through Dearborn First UMC.
Members of Garrison Corner are:
Jeff Karoub - Vocals, Guitar, Fiddle, and Mandolin
Dan Houston - Drums and Percussion
George Luckey - Vocals, Guitar
Chris Doner - Bass Guitar
Amy Luckey - Vocals
