A Night of Art & Protest

Come experience an evening of justice-seeking through a variety of art forms: visual art, music, storytelling, and poetry. These events will focus on the need to organize, find your voice, your method of expression, and your place in the long marathon to building a community of peace and justice.
Learn about ICE and the immigration detention process
We'll hear from the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC) and volunteers from the Immigrant Action Coalition (IAC), working directly with detainees and families at the Baldwin detention center.
They'll help us better understand the immigration process, detention, deportation and due process, while sharing ways our community can listen, connect and get involved.
The evening will feature music, art, student art and poetry.
Using creative expression to seek social change makes our time together not only informative, but meaningful and surrounded by beauty.
Do you have art to share?
There is still room on the docket for more artists to participate! We invite artists, musicians, writers, dancers, and creators of all types (even culinary!) to contribute their work on themes of immigration, protest, or other social justice issues for this, or for future events. Activist and socially conscious art of all forms is encouraged—visual, musical, poetic, multimedia, or even dance and movement.

Bring them to the church office by October 13 so we can put this creative expression of protest on display!
