DFUMC Missions Team invites you to join our friends at Good Shepherd UMC and United Methodists across the Greater Detroit area as we all take part in mission activities to serve our communities together! Let’s worship through mission, gather with purpose, and share the love of Jesus in our community!

Meet at Dearborn First UMC
10 a.m.: Abbreviated worship service led by Pastor Suzy
10:30 a.m.: Take part in “Church Has Left the Building” activities
There will be no livestream worship this Sunday
Activities are meant to be suitable for all ages.
Childcare for kids 0-4 yrs. may be available, depending on adequate staff coverage. Stay tuned!
OPTION 1: Help clean up the Rouge River Trail.
Volunteers will walk along an appointed route and pick up trash, litter, and other debris to beautify our green spaces, and care for God’s creation. Water and hand-held snacks will be provided to help keep your energy up! Bring your favorite work gloves, tools, and garbage bags (optional).
Park in the lot behind Dearborn Historical Museum off Brady Street.
OPTION 2: Visit those in our congregation who have been home-bound and can’t make it to church.
Teams have been evenly matched with homes to visit. If you would like a visit, or would like to sign up to visit a home on another day, contact Barb W: missions@dearbornfirstumc.org
OPTION 3: Prepare and deliver trays of treats to Fire, Police, and other first responders working on Sundays
Following the worship service at Dearborn First UMC, head over to Good Shepherd UMC to help assemble treat trays to be delivered.
OPTION 4: Donate treats to be delivered.
If you won’t be present on Sunday, or if mobility is a challenge, donate baked goods to be assembled onto treat trays.
OPTION 5: Childcare volunteer for kids 0-4 years old
Supporting the event by enabling parents of young kids to participate is important too! Work together with another volunteer at Dearborn First UMC. Safe Gatherings certification a plus, but you can also be paired with somebody who has been trained.
