Michigan UMC ADVOCACY DAY

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2026 • 8:30 a.m. arrival
State Capitol • Lansing

Spend the day with Michigan United Methodists meeting with lawmakers regarding food insecurity.

Activities include meetings with legislators, letter-writing, poster-making for the rally on the Capitol steps, prayer in the Capitol rotunda, and prayer and worship at Central UMC opposite the Capitol.

A group is forming from Dearborn First UMC, so here’s your chance to join in! Find details, schedule of the day, and more on the Advocacy Day website (link below).

When you register, choose the following activities and times if you want to stick with the group:

  • 10:30 a.m. - prayer vigil in the Rotunda

  • TBD - A spot in the Gallery during the meeting of the House of Representatives

  • TBD - meeting with either a state senator or representative

  • 2:30 p.m. - Capitol Building Tour
